rebuild question

I have a 88 turbo II and im confused about the break in procedure. according to rotary ressurection you shouldn't push the car past 4,000 rpms for the 1st 1,000 miles, but I wanted to know if it's supposed to have hesitation and sputter during break-in? did the sputtering happen during anyone elses break-in? the car never used to hesitate directly before the rebuild. it does hesitate around 3500-4000 rpm, like other peoples problems (yes i have searched) and i dont know if it's injectors as some claim, grounding? any help would be appreciated. and it's currently at 150 miles on the rebuild

Yep, sputtering/hesitations are _usually_ (not always) grounds and/or injectors.

Break in miles can vary a lot.
It depends on how good your reused parts were and if you replaced the housings or lapped the side plates.
The compression will tell. Do compression tests every few hundred miles. when it builds up & levels off, you're good to go.

(edit) The mis-firing is a seperate issue. Check fuel pump voltage, pressure, injectors, plugs. Here's one that's often overlooked - keep the CAS signal wires away from the plug wires.
