yeah, i guess the scenario where they didn't build the engine (even if they got it from Mazda) is sort of silly. so, both our memories are probably just fine.
the ice water tank makes sense, and again, my memory is straining, but i did read the original Car and Driver article and i think that's exactly what they did. i think i remember them saying they refilled it after each run or something like that.
i did not know (or maybe remember) the tidbit about Akai. i remember seeing their name/logo on quite a few RB cars. i knew they made stereo equipment, so the camera-thing makes sense, too.
