hard to say, with a used engine you will never know how it is without seeing it running. take mine for example, a jspec was put in which ran great, but untill it was ran for the first time we didn't know that the oil seals were damaged.. it runs good but smokes like crazy. so you can take the chance, and maybe it will be fine, or just start off with a fresh motor.

oh, and I see your from toronto so you will probably be getting an engine from Tiger Imports there. thats where my engine came from so be careful.

If you look through the forum threads, I think you'll find that you're better off rebuilding any engine of unknown origin.
You might start by pulling and tearing down the engine you already have and seeing what kind of shape it's in.
Assuming the major components are good, rebuild and be done with it.

Tigers is a negative, read the bad business section. Those guys are notorious for selling blown rotary engines.

I might be new here but even i say if you want a "new" used engine then have it rebuilt. The only reason i am afraid of buying a JDM engine is i will have to pay for it of course then pay again for a rebuild or suck it up and try to rebuild it myself with a rebuild kit which either way prices the engine more than what i paid for the car. In my case i am starting with an S5 13B NA so i am just going to get that rebuilt till i can make the time and money to get a JDM engine and rebuild it but still have the car running for daily use.
