Rebuild has begone

Well, for those of you who have been following the dramatic life of my car, it has taken a turn for the worse yet again, the ATF didn't help at all, so the car is once again engineless. It's quite depressing to have spent all this money and time, to have to pull it all back apart. Oh well, I've started to tear apart the engine and so far have made some decent progress, in about 3hours we had the engine out of the car, and most of the externals stripped off. Just working on getting the flywheel off now, need a 2 & 1/8th socket damnit! Anyway, wish me luck, I hope its not an expensive fix

Yeah, i'm quite beyond pissed, sort of, to that point where you just don't care your so pissed off, that you act normal, if you know what I mean. I was about 30 seconds from just seeing which parts of the car would stand up to my sledgehammer the longest, but instead I just walked away and said screw it. If I can't fix the front rotor for cheap, then I'll probably end up getting rid of it.

He wont give up. If he does hes going to get that broken apex seal wedged in his forehead. We have done to much work to give up now. So if he drops the project its bitchslapping time.

Wow, there are people with RX-7s in MICHIGAN? 2nd Gens?! I think I've only seen 3 others in the Detroit Metro area, maybe 4. Where are you guys at? I'm in Novi. My friend has an 87 Sport (we think) but it died when he came home from school because no one drove it. I think it is the OMP, but who knows.

Hah, there are 2nd gens all over in lower michigan. We're in the most remote place you can think of, UPPER MICHIGAN! So me and Skippy own a total of 4 2nd gens, and are working on increasing that number. We've seen 3 others and made offers to buy them with little luck so far. They are hard to find, but they are out there. Most I see around here are 86-88 base model's with the 4 lugs.

Well, here's what I have found out after taking the engine block apart. The side seals on the front rotor are all stuck, as well as there was one stuck apex seal which came free and cleaned up nicely, was stuck down by some carbon buildup. Thank god I don't need to replace the rotor housing or the rotor! I am so relieved!
