Rebuild finally done

As of yesterday my rebuild motor is running again.
Been porting it using templates from 88IntegraLS. Anyway I got the motor in, primed the fuel system and cranked it for approximately five seconds when all of a sudden it jumped to life. It didnt even flood on me, only smoked for a minute or so and reved very nicely the just to go down on an 800 rpm idle.

I used the Rotary Aviation apexseals along with OEM housingseals and FD springs.

A Before going to work today, I took it out for a test on some backroads. So far I have only reved it to 5000 rpms and it accelerates pretty ******* good.

No emissions and working aux. ports thanks to the euro-spec. butterfly-valves

Yeah im a *****

why didn't you use the entire rebuild kit from rotary aviation? why just the apex seals? edit: I'm fixing to buy the whole master overhaul kit from them, that's why I'm asking

that's cool... I just wheeled & dealed with my local Mazda rip-off artists, too... got a rotor housing for 450, but with the tax, it's just as much as ordering it from the Mazdatrix rip-off artists!

Congrats, and I think you will like the ports. When you get it into the upper rpm range after break in, you will really be able to tell when the aux ports open up.

Thanks again Jeff, I would have sent you a pm about it, but the fotum gave me an error
I just noticed that the upper radiator hose gets really hard when warm, I will replace the thermostat today.

So far I only have about 150 kilometers on it(about 100 miles) so I gotta be patient to open it op, but I can hardly wait.
Funny how rotarys has to be broken in, it makes sense though, cus the bimmer I had just had to be floored from day one needless to say I loved that part of it

BTW --- No smoke -- no bubbles in the overflow tank -- no oilspill and it sounds ******* great.

I have about 700 kilometers on the motor now and decided to to do some testing.
Took it out in the first two gears- 1stgear=60kmh 2ndgear=110kmh
This thing accelerates like theres no tommorow especially after the Aux. ports open around 4000rpms.
Im so confident that I might rebuild the old motor
