Rearend Mount ????

Ok so im not sure what im really talking about here, but bear with me. After driving my dd for a few months, i really started to notice a jerkish motion. Which i assumed was a bad ujoint, finding out they were non replaceable i decided to just swap w/ a spare car i got. But what i found out was the driveshaft and u joint were good but i was able to push the rear end about 3-5 inches straing up even with the driveshaft attached. So is this a mount gone bad or something much worse. plus im still driving the car

That would be the front differential mount.

Theres a writeup on how to change it somewhere.

Install a pinion snubber and you should never break another one. Enter "pinion snubber" in the forum search for the 2nd gen tech section and it will bring up a couple threads.

Hey so i finally got the concept of the pinion snubber but havent been able to find any good pictures all the links are bad. Where is it you want to drill the hole, or just kinda so that it keeps the diff from moving, and does it need to be centered on the diff, it is to just keep it from moving up, right

I think it should. I'm getting ready to replace my diff mount too so we're kinda in the same boat here. It just has to contact the mount. You will also have to stack washers to get it to contact just right.

Yep, that's it. Pick up 2 nuts and 2 fender washers for it. There is a dimple on the floor pan under the rear bins in the center where you drill the hole. Once installed adjust it until it puts some pressure on the diff nose.
