Rear Windshield wiper

Ive got an 87 NA and am having trouble with the rear windshield washer, I checked all the major connections and they appear to decent. Basically im directing this question to all the electronic guru's out there, i think ive either got a faulty switch or the motor's gone bad which im highly doubting. Any insight whatsoever would be appreciated. Thanks you in advance

Have you checked the fuse responsible for that circuit?

If you have a voltmeter handy check to see that voltage is getting there when the switch is pushed.

The rear hatch shock has a connection on it also so it won't work with the hatch up.

Basically its been my thoughts that the rear Wiper is
simply a peice of crap. Mine works a 1/4 of the time
My problem is most likey in the switch though.
Good luck with yours. Lates matt22

I've checked my rear window wiper and switch. I get around 12 volts to the wiper no problem, checked the connections it's getting to the motor. But the motor still doesn't move. I broke the motor apart and checked the mechanics of it, even turning it by hand. Still no dice. Looked at the brushes, contacts seems good and have good contact to the copper cells on the motor. I'm a little at loss as to what I should try next in fixing it. I'm goingn to try hooking direct voltage to the motor to see if it runs, I have a feeling it's actually something internal on the motor that's at fault. Any suggestions on where I should check?

If 12V gets to the motor and it doesn't work then its the motor. You can double check by applying 12V directly to the motor as you have stated but I don't think it will make any difference.

Yeah, but i was wondering more towards the internals of the motor. If those are prone to cold solder points, or something along those lines.

Not going for fastest 7 here. Going for a nice whip with some power, but not sacrificing the creature comforts. And besides, I have to know when there's a cop behind me in a down pour.
