rear end gear question

Ok, to make a na FC quicker I know I could go Turbo. But that is alot of money and I figured if I change my rear gear I could do the same thing.

OK, so I want to know if a GTUs rear end would fit in a na se?
Anyone done this? How hard is it to get a GTUs rear chunk?

Thanks

This has been covered many times, you may wish to use the search function found in the upper right hand corner of the page or read through the 2nd gen RX-7 archive.

And changing the rear end will not make the car much quicker.

Man why does everyone have to be an *** and think they know everything?
Well if you must know the search feature was used. If you read the question I was asking, it is not answered in anything I found this is the reason I asked!

So again can you tell me if a "GTUs" (you know the 89 S5 rare car) rear end fit in a S4 SE (4 lug) na? That is if you know the answer.

And as for changing the rear end not making the car much quicker, goning from a 4.1 to a 4.3 no, not much but on a small track it would help alot and the lsd would too. But if I changed it to say a 4.8 yes it would be a bit quicker. I am not looking for a 200 mph car. I just want the 0-45 mph time to be quicker. So yes changing to a 4.3 would help me. Knowing why I was asking might have helped you with that comment.

i personally noticed a small differnce from going from a 4.10:1 to a calculated 4.23:1 (tire size changed) ... nothing much in terms of actual times, but it did give it a bit more pep around town.

Dude, your a fool. First of all, a search for "rear end swaps" would have yielded these results and answered your question.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...+rear+end+swap

But then when you were asked politely (by a moderator in fact) to use the search button and faqs, you got all pissy and started talking about "everyone on this forum," when you only have 13 posts yourself.

As for the 13 post well, well this will be where your the fool! This is not my login as I am at a friends house helping him with his 7. I have a slight bit more than 13 post, over 2000 to be a bit more closer which still is not much but more than what your showing!

When I was saying everyone on this forum, well to be exact there have been alot of "use the search" or "search for it" when a simple answer could have helped that person, we are help to help one another, right????.
Maybe they did not have time or could not find the exact answer, but no some people on here lately have been quick to jump all over someone. And the funny thing is you can't always believe what you read so again ask someone you can trust like ICE MARK / ReTED and several others. This fourm is getting to far away from the real reason were here! Many people on here think because they have a few post and own a 7 now makes them an expert. Well, let me tell you something, I have owned over 30 rotary powered cars (right now I have 9) and have been into rotaries for over 15 years now and still don't know all the answers. THIS IS WHY I ASK!

Your snappish insulting responses and inability to search (or even read the archived threads on this) suggests that you are prehaps a spoiled child. Can you feed yourself as well, or do we need to help you with that as well.

So here.. I will answer you question that you seem to be utterly clueless to find yourself and would rather insult others when they are trying to help you.

All FC non turbo differentials can be exchanged for another non turbo FC differential. In fact the FC non turbo differential guts can even be swapped with 94+ Miata differential guts.

You may also wish to know (but I doubt it- since you didn't ask) that the GTUs was built 89 and 90, and was not all that rare- with around 2000-2200 of them made between the two years.

The 4.3 ring and pinion gears are of course available from many aftermarket RX-7 shops, but again, if you really read the threads of people that have swapped the GTUs rear end in, you would see that there really is no major gain (of course- less than a second might be a considerable gain for you- I guess it would be a matter of prospective).

But again the spoiled child in you may not choose to believe that. After all I am only trying to help you - despite your child like responses.

And since your question is now answered, and there are countless other threads on this; there would be no reason to keep this thread open. So thread closed.
