Unhappy Rear Differential

I noticed this morning that my GTU seems to be a little sluggish, she acts as if the rear end is being held by the brakes when taking off from a stop.

Took her home, and removed the rear wheels to check the brakes and they seem fine, I wonder about the rear Diff, I have not heard any abnormal noises or anything like that, so I'm not sure if that could be it.

Any ideas/suggestions

Jack up both rears,
Tranny in neutral,
Turn the wheels,
Feel & listen for noise or drag.

BTW: When the trailing spark quits, it feels just like that.

Wheels off and up, n neutral...no noise, but the wheels/ rotors turn with some resistance/drag...

Anyway to check the Trailing coil, and won't that cause idle problems?

When the trailing spark drops, power drops, but you're still runnung.
The BAC will pick up the idle & mask the power loss.

I noticed right when I park idle was about 1100-1200.

Is that what you are talking about...

I'll check back....have to got to sleep work nights, and I'm tired.

If anyone else has any suggestions please add them/

Thanks a bunch SureShot !!!

If you feel it's in the rear, pull the calipers off, easy check, and make certain pistons are not sticking and holding the pads against the rotor. That will resolve the brake issue. You can usually tell if the car is on a very, very, slight grade. It will roll with the clutch in. If the pistons are sticking, sometimes you won't get that little roll.

I had a stuck rear brake caliper i had to replace. To check, take your car out for a drive, hit the brakes and stop. Get out and feel your rims. If its a caliper, that rim will be ALOT hotter then the others.

Pulled Brakes, checked calipers, seemed OK.

Changed Oil in Rear Diff just in case.

Put everyything back together, seems ok, but this is bothering me....

Any other thoughts anyone?

How about when you are coasting in neutral.
Does it slow down faster than normal then?

I took it out yesterday, and it seems that the rear brakes are clamping down, and not releasing properly. I have to check the manual to see how to adjust the e-brake.

my next thought is to replace the rear calipers/rotors/pads.

Any other thoughts??
