Re-wiring my thermosensor. 1 question.

My FCs wiring has been a constant struggle due to the previous owners love for wire cutters.

Ive been having cold start issues and figured it was the thermosensor.

I recently installed my Rtek 2.1 and found that it was throwing a code for it and the temp. is constantly pinned.

I have no wires anywhere for the sensor so Im running new ones.

I have a new wire from terminal 2I on the ECU to one side of an EV1 clip for the sensor. Can I ground the other side of the clip in the engine bay or do I need to run it back to the ECU? If it has to go to the ECU, which ground terminal?

Thanks in advance.

Grounded on the engine should work.

On the stk configuration each of several sensors in the engine bay have all their gnds spliced together in the harness and ternimated at pin 2C of the ECU. Not worth doing this in your case.

The BAC was fed by a black/white power wire that is switched voltage. The other of the two wires is colored Blue with a green stripe (L/G) and it runs back to the ECU on pin 2G. I'd go look at the ECU middle plug and see if there is a L/G wire in 2G. Should be on the top row and fourth wire counting from right to left.

IF it's there at the ECU and you don't see a cut wire nearby, then that L/G might just still be in the EM harness. I think it broke out of the trunk around the water filler cap area. Probably has it's plug cut off and the wire stuffed somewhere.,

Most all those solenoids on the left side of the engine have a two wire plug and one of those plugs on each is black/white. Most all those black/white are spliced together in the harnes trunk including the one meant for the BAC and the split air solenoid on the ACV and the port air solenoid on the ACV.

Just saying there should be a black/white in the area that is HOT anytime the key is on and might be used for your BAC.

I stripped my harness back and found the G/W. The other side I took to an engine ground. Works fine.
