RE-amemiya Top Mount Intercooler
RE-amemiya Top Mount Intercooler
Is anyone running this intercooler, if so how do you like it. Any pics of it on a car would be great. If you have one for sale I would be interested.
Why bother with top mount?
Not to mention you're gonna pay a fortune for an RE Amemiya piece. And, I seriously doubt there are any in the US, much less any for sale.

Only trick is making sure air is forced through it, otherwise it would be an interheater.

Easier to install? Nothing good in life is easy
.Actually, the top mount that RE Amemiya carries is just the Greddy top mount - it's basically a stock intercooler with another half of a core hanging off to the driver's side. There's a reason Greddy didn't bring that to the states...

The only justification for a top mount intercooler is a stock car or an air/water intercooler. That's it.

That IC will have less pressure drop through it than the stock one, but it won't cool any better. Not only does the top-mount location cause the same heat soak as stock (perhaps worse because of the increased surface area) but they'll be no increase in cooling air passing through it because it still relies on the same tiny hood scoop. Factor in the huge cost and I think you'd have to be nuts to buy one. If you really want an upgraded top-mount you could probably have one custom-made for less, but a properly sized front-mount with properly sized pipes will perform much better overall.

it's supposed to be made with the stock turbo. the older one was made to work with the aftermarket Greddy kit. I think you have to remove your fiberglass bumper and definitely requires some cutting. cheaper because there are less bends. It's simply cheaper to manufacture. Performance though i think it's better.

the turbo has nothing to do with it. The kit is designed for a J-Spec car, which has the brake master on the other side of the car. They fit fine if your car is RHD.
