ran outta gas
OKay i let my brother borrow my rx-7 n/a cuz his car broke down, and so one day he driving it and he came over to my house and he parked it and he came in the house then when he tryed to leave it wouldnt start he had let it run outta gas and so we get some gas cans fill them up and put it in the car. and as soon it had gas in it the car started but then when my brother drove to his house (he always let it idle down and warm up before driving it, so he did that then the nest morning the car wouldn't start it jsut cranks he tryed starting the car for like 5-8mins and it wouldn't start, same thing for the second day. to be it sounds like it's flooded. but i don't know ? any help to get my car started would be great!
Please eveyone give me some advice!
thanks in advance.

2 things:
1) has it been cold? if it has, put some sort of gasline antifreeze in the tank. When the tank gets low, it is a lot easier for condensation to form. If condensation forms in the tank, the antifreeze will cure that problem.
2) Replace the fuel filter. When you run out of gas, all the crap that was floating on to of the gas gets sucked down the lines, and can block up the filter.

Hmmmm. Here in Canada they sell small bottles of "Gas-Line Antifreeze". You just pour it in the tank, and it takes care of the water (frozen or not) that is in your tank and lines. I'm sure you could find it in Pep Boys. If not, You'll probably find that a fuel stabilizer will do the same thing.
Change the filter first, and see if it works.

Pop starting the clutch doesn't always work. Especially if it's flooded. Living near the bottom of the hill I only get one attempt, maybe two if I get a push. However; if the car is flooded, the easiest way to remedy this is to do the 'EGI trick'. You can do a search or check it out at www.rx7.com. Basically, your just getting all of the left over gas out of the engine because NA's (Series 4 at least) don't unflood themselves after just letting it sit. What you do is go into the engine bay, and pull the Fuse labelled EGI. Then you try to start the car. IT won't start with the fuse out. Do this once or twice and then replace the fuse. The car should start up fine if it was flooded.
Hope it helps.
