Question radio problem

When i turn my radio on no sound comes from any speakers. the lights come on and you can see the channal that it is one. so i know that it has power.

the funny thing is that when i turn it on and off i can here the speaders make a poping noise. so another thing that i know is that the speakers are working can someone help me out here.

there are two preamps in the setup, one for front speakers and one for rear. the only thing i could think of is the speaker wires going from the player to the amps came loose because the pop means the amps are turning on so they are working. check the plugs on the player to see if wires are loosely connected.

I think the rears each had amps... So on some setups there are 3 amps.

funny. I'm having what sounds like the same problem, but I'm using an aftermarket head unit. A few days ago, all the speakers went out, and if I hit the passenger door they would come back on suddenly. this worked for a few days, but now no amount of jarring will reanimate the speakers. since I'm not stock and you are, the cause is probably not the same, but we should share ideas just in case

one clue: I noticed during some fooling around (before this problem occured) that if I unplugged one speaker, all 4 would shut off. so maybe you just have one lead loose between all the speakers?

p.s. the preamp outputs still work on my unit, and the amp/speakers fed off of it are playing. but the 4 main speakers coming straight off the head unit are not responding, as per your situation.

p.p.s. going to monkey with it right now... I'll let you know how it goes.

the only way i can think of that working (unplug one and none work) is if you ran the speakers in series, all of them. and the wires on the front passanger must be loose. i have never heard of anyone running all there speakers in series and i would suggest changing it if thats the case.
