Radiator Overflow Relocation

Hey guys, i just had a Turbo II swap on my 91 N/A and as part of the swap i did an old school Trust front mount intercooler and with it, my radiator overflow would not fit, i was looking for a solution, any ideas? I was thinking i could relocate it somewhere, or maybe find a smaller overflow tank to put in the same spot. here are a few pics to help you see what im talking about.

let me know what you guys got, thanks!

Depending on how you routed your intercooler lines, you might try using the spot used on the 86 non turbos on the drivers shock tower.

Here are a few old pictures of my original turbo-NA setup that show the coolant bottle on the drivers shock tower near the fuse box.

The bracket is built into the fuse box bracket. There is a corresponding stud on the inner fender.

In the meantime, during your search for one of the 86 style overflow tanks, I have seen people just use a 20z soda bottle with a hole in the lid.

Partly correct. The mounting stud for the '86 over flow tank is only on the S4 bracket. The stud was eliminated on S5's. But very easy swap

But i need the 86 style reservoir, correct?

As of right now i think the plan is to relocate the batter, and mount it there, it looks like it will fit like a glove

Correct.

Just buy a new one '86 tank. They're actually pretty cheap from the dealer as i recall. Relocating the battery just to relocate the stock over flow tank is way over kill given that alternative.

did you do that with the same brackets that were on the reservoir to begin with?

One of them- the short one to the wheelwell- is original.
The second one is just a random bracket tweaked to fit.
