radiator leak

Hi,

I discovered yesterday that my radiator (stock unit) is leaking.
when you look from the front of the car, the upper left plastic endtank is crack.

Basically at the location where it looks like three stiffeners matching the pipe, there is a small crack on top of one of the stiffener.

That crack is around 5mm long. the leak is not really big i think as i have no overheating issues and yesterday i have driven it hard and i don't have lost more than a tea spoon of coolant.

I was attending a car meet when i discovered that and the other guys proposed me two things:
- apply some bicomponent glue (called "araldite" in france, don't know if it's sold worldwide under the same brand).
- use a welding iron to slightly melt the cracked region and fuse it back together.

Of course the best way would be to change the radiator but i'm not a good mechanic and would never find the time to change it...

what do you think i can do to fix this ?

Grunswald,I See you are from France.
so I will say this in French: Garcon,Get another rad and don't screw with the crappy plastic..!!!!!!!(did you hear my accent when I typed that?..lol!)

You may not be a mechanic NOW,but you will be..SOON.You own an RX7!
Changing a Rad on an Rx7 is about a 6 on a scale of 10.The only things I see posing a small problem is the lower bolt on the drivers side..and the Fan bolts.

The only reliable solution is to replace the radiator, I don't recommend any temporary "fixes" like you listed. Failure could mean you lose an engine.

Dont cheap out on your coolant system, it will cost you another motor if you do.

Just get another radiator. Case closed.

Get a temporary radiator from a junkyard until you can afford a nice one, or.just use the junkyard one.

Look at how clean this radiator I bought at the junkyard is for $36
