rad. support question

I need to move my radiator a few inches forward to get some more clearance from the front of my motor. does the rad support do anything other than the obvious? i just want to make sure cutting out a good piece of it wont have any negative effects

For one thing it holds the hood latch, so if you move it you'll have to use pins.

Man, I wouldn't do that if I where you.

Why does it need to be moved forward?

^needs a bit more room, there's a spot where the electric fan is only clearing the front belts by maybe 1.5"

Why not use a blow through fan?

it currently has one fan on each side, what is a blow through set up? i was planning on cutting the support, dropping back the rad and putting a single or double fan on the engine side, i dont have access to my car right now to check clearances but im pretty sure once the rad is moved back the front will be too close to my IC to mount a fan on it.

A fan that blows air through the radiator instead of pulling air through, but it seems you already have one if I read that correctly.
