Racing Beat header question

Just blew out my stock exhaust @ one of the presilencers.
My question is- if I get Racing Beat streetable header... this would bolt right up to my stock cat right?

(1987 base model N/A 5-speed)

Yes it will bolt up to your cat just fine.

I contacted Racing Beat about bolting the header to the stock cat and it will not fit. The header is not long enough to bolt to the stock cat, but a short spacer could be made with a couple flanges and some pipe...

or you could replace the cat with a Bonez hi-flow cat, but having a muffler shop make an extension is obviously the least expensive route.

Yeah the RB comes up about 3 inches short. Knock the flanges off the precats and get them welded to a short piece of exhaust pipe. Each install can be a little different so measure twice. Oh, and make sure the flanges line up right for the bolts.

If you don't know, don't post. This is blatantly wrong.

ok wait, if you would us the RB header and make that ~3" spacer so it bolts up to the stock cat...would that setup still have enough backpressure to open the aux ports?
