It's a possibility.

The rtek's fuel maps are designed for 720's. I can't be sure on this but i've "Heard" that the Rtek maps are built rich.

Soo.... If you put larger injectors in then you will be making it richer.

I would say go with 720's if your doing the regular 720Rtek or get the rtek 2.0 and manipulate your fuel maps to compensate for the higher cc injectors.

The Rtek 1.7 was DAMN rich on my car with a stock turbo, 720cc secondaries, intake FMIC, turboback exhaust and walbro @ 13psi. I wouldn't run anything larger than the recommended 720's with it unless you have at least some means to tune the car (SAFC).

you will also get a slight hesitation when the secondaries kick in with anything larger than 720's on the rtek 1.7. I have a brand new Factory wiring harness, and when I run my RC engineering 750cc (saturated/high impedance) in the secondaries, I get a hesitation (only under partial throttle). But when I used Greddy 720 (peak-hold/low impedance) with resistors, the hesitation was non-existant.

The difference between a 550/770 injector combo and the recommended 550/720 is 4%, i.e the extra amount of fuel is very small. It won't have any effect on flooding since only the primary injectors are used during cranking.

I don't think he mentioned he was using 550's as primaries. Rtek has a 550/720 combo and a full 720 setup. So we're both thinking of different things when answering him.
