quick question on post tb mod idle

hey everyone. I just did the tb mod like 2 weeks ago and my idle is down to like 550 after it is warmed up. Can i just adjust the screw on the top of the tb to fix this or do i have to mess with the tps? Also, it does kinda suck having to let my car warm up. I usually just don't let it warm up and i drive it cold. I have to blip the gas constantly, even when i am braking. It is almost like i am being forced to learn to heel toe with my right foot. Hell yeah.......

Raise your idle speed using the throttle stop screw on top of the TB, then reset your TPS. You must always reset your TPS after adjusting the throttle stop because it changes where everything (including the TPS) sits when your foot's off the pedal.

No, the TPS is just a sensor. When I said reset I just meant set again. It has to be set using an adjusting screw to operate properly. Do a seach on the forum for setting the TPS.

Hey

Whats the most effective whay to set it just by feel. I got the idle to *** down and stop making poping sounds but know the car seems to jerk when im holding the throttle constant. Whats the deal. I used the two chritmas light bulb methat but the bulbs burn out before I can finish. So how can i do it by ear or feel?????????????

Must be the bulbs you're using, I've never thad a prob with mine (12V panel lights). I doubt you'd ever get it right just by feel, there's a huge amount of adjustment in the screw, but only a very small "sweet spot". If it jerks at constant throttle, that ain't it!
I think my TPS is shot, I can't get a smooth on-off throttle transition no matter where I set it.

The lights are actually a Mazda "special tool" and the procedure is in the FSM, so they better not blow my ECU!

That is true. Find Ted Koseki's site...he has a great write up of setting the TPS using a multimeter. I used his method and the car is smooth as glass when picking up the throttle.
