Quick question about lowering the convertible's top by hand.

Hi all. I tried to lower the top of my convertible by hand but although that I turned the screws that mount the top to the motors clockwise all the way, the top could not move at all. Is this the right screw to unscrew? Any ideas why the top does not come down?
PS. The motors are working but I am rebuilding the whole car from scratch and I have to take the top from a donor car with no engine, no battery etc.

whole car and I had to remove the top from a donor car with no battery etc.

That should do it... It's weird though.

FSM states that you need to turn the 10mm with a Phillips head slot counterclockwise to raise the top manually. I wonder if it doesn't work to manually lower it only to raise it in an emergency.

Try turning the screw/bolt counterclockwise until you can't anymore and it should work.

Thank you for your answer. I did that but as I said the top could not move at all.Yes, it's really weird. I had to remove the top by unscrewing it completely from the motor mounts.Any other info would be appreciated.
