Quick queastion

I have already searched I just wanted to ask because I couldn't find a specific and answer and there was a lot of mixed information on the web. I have a stock 1987 s4 tII. The only mod is an after market exhaust (2 1/2" i think). On cold days if i floor it it will boost creep to 7 maybe 8 psi. i have a fcd and the waste gate is ported. I will get the rtek 1.5 as soon as i have the cash. I have 3 questions. Am I ok to run 8psi boost,no boost controller or anything just creeps up, with the stock ecu, injectors, fuel pump, and a fcd. If not will I be ok for 8psi if I have an rtek 1.5. how hard is it to install a rtek 1.5. And wil the fuel pump rewire give me any extra fuel in the engine?

An Rtek is a chipped stock ECU so its as simple as pulling out the stock ECU and plugging it straight into the Rtek unit. Without your FCD, have you ever gotten fuel cut? Basically if you're getting boost creep, I would get that taken care of before adding anything to help with power. An Rtek 1.5 is made for small mods like an exhaust and as I'm sure you know, is set up for 550cc / 550cc injectors. First priority is to keep boost under control though so you won't blow your engine. I'll let the pros handle the rest of your questions.

I bought the car with the fuel cut defender installed. I don't think the car has ever been up past 8psi. I always watch the boost gauge (aftermarket) very carefully. Other than a ported wastegate ( already have one). How would I control boost creep, could I just get a 2.25 inch exhaust flange of something and put it between my down pipe and mid pipe?

the more open ur exaust and intake the worse boost creep gets. restrict it a little bit it might get better i would just watch it and think about rebuilding for safe boosting.

and why are a FCD and a ported wasgate not "mods" ?
mazda never offered those from a factory so they are modifications to your rx7, right.

Your right those are modifications, I miss spoke. And durtled what did you mean by rebuild, rebuild the engine or my fuel, ecu, exhaust, and stuff like that? I really just wanna run stock boost levels I'm just having trouble getting the creep down I'm gonna go pick up some exhaust flanges today and try to restrict my exhaust.
