I'm thinking he just needs a plug. If you don't need your readings and you already have the bung, all you'll need is the correct NPT size and just grab a pipe and weld one end closed. Screw it in and you're done. If you're looking for a thermal-couple, I do not think there is a substitute that can allow you to do what you want and not be a thermal-couple. If you know the thread pitch and what not you might be able to throw in a wideband, but that won't tell you your EGT's... Wait.. what exactly are you asking for?

Buy a small nut from the hardware store, and a 1/8NPT tap while you're there. Weld the nut in the DP, drill and tap.

FIn.

EDIT: NVM the EGT probe should have a collar on it, that method won't work. You can either use the band clamp that comes with the coupler, or purchase a threaded adaptor (although most EGT kits should have this already) which will thread in (or be welded to) the downpipe and the coupler collar will thread on the adaptor.

yea mines comes with the probe, a nut collar, and i guess a apadter. one end goes into the collar of the sender andthe other into a bung that goes in the exhaust.

just have a look at it. It shouldn't go into a bung, it should threadinto the exhaust (ie. tap) if its thick enough. Otherwise, just drill a hole, drop it in and weld it. Then thread the coupler in.....................or just use the band clamp.
