Quick help w emissions
So I have a 91 NA w SAFCII, pace setter header, stock cat, apexi dual N1 + apexi cone intake.
I failed one section of the test. HC ppm during driving. Required is 150, the first test I got 228, the second test I got 368.
During the first test in 2nd gear going about 3k I had the SAFCII set to -20%. The second time I was in 3rd gear about 2k + set to -10%
So I got some new plugs, gunna instal those soon. What else should I do to help out? My air pump + everything is working, so adding another won't do much. I also have some thicker MSD plug wires that I installed about a year ago.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

sounds like your Catalytic is Toast..and it could be,due to the Header.Probably be better off to put in the stock manifold and get a high flo cat..or another NEW stock catalytic. NOW,the alcohol trick is to put in a Gallon of Denatured alcohol to two-three gallons of Fuel.(J-Rat had a Thread on it.).If you can't find it,try Methyl hydrate...One of the Tricks of the Emissions test is to Get the Car HOT..Drive the car about Twenty minutes..then before you get into the Test Area,Pour in the Mix and then get Tested..The "WARNING" about this,is that the Alcohol or "additive:" is not very Friendly with Seals. So you can Dillute it By FILLING UP,Immediately after the test..you shouldn't run the car on the Mixture any more than you have to.I hope that may help you out a bit.

What about a new cat? This one looks like it will fit (has the pipe for the air pump too) http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...pe=145&PTSet=A
Or there is the mazdatrix one that is 'high flow' + 421 bucks. But I just need it to pass emissions then I'll probably gut out my old one + put that back on.
