Quick fender question

are the 88 TII front fenders the same for the 89 vert?
Also is any of the mounting stuff behind the fenders bolt on or is it all spot welded?
Reason i ask is this
http://skullwerkz.com/forumpics/P3210011.JPG
Looks like i can beat most of it sttraight but if some is bolt up then i might as well just replace it
Thanks

use one of the little pro, pane torches to heat up the metl when you beat it out, you have to put as much strength into it and when you heat it up only heat it where the metal is bent

I had the same spot repaired ..it took out the windshield washer bottle, battery tray, driver's light motor, light assembly,bumper,reinforce......If you get a used fender and Bumper, with a little fabrication you should be OK..The fender and Bumper and the Car,all attach at that spot(crude description..sorry).You can get by though, with the Bumper and the fender attached together and not have to attach them to the car as you will have enough Bolts to secure the 2 just Fine..(just my 2 cents..)..I still have a photo..of the area..without the bumper and the Fender. If you Pm me,I can e-mail it to you..It's not my car(also it's the passenger side),but you will get the idea of what I'm talkin about..Misterstyx69

no, there is a diff from the s4 and s5 bumpers all the fenders are the same, the only thing that would be different is "probably" the trim

no you dont need a new front bumper but due to the pic yea i would go ahead and buy a new one it can be an s4 or an s5 it doesnt matter cause the fender will work with either.

heres what it says in the FAQ but doesnt say anything about fenders
Im assuming its the same the other way around (S4 to S5)

Will 89-91 (S5) mouldings or bumpers fit on my 86-88 (S4) RX-7?
other than some minor mounting hole differences on the front bumpers, the mouldings and bumpers will fit fine.

Ok. The run down of putting an S4 fender on an S5 car.

The mount holes are different (only like 2 or 3 of them)
You'll need to change the trim.

If you feel like changing the bumper (you don't have too) get the style that matches your year of car. Since it's an S5, get an S5 bumper so the trim will match. You can't just change the trim on the bumpers, it's molded on.

It'll fit fine...the trim just won't match up right. If you really don't care about that...then it'll work fine.

Yes. You can put the fender trim on from the old fender to the new one.
