Problems lowering car on GC's...
First off, please don't move this to the suspension section, because it pertains to an FC specifically... Thanks...
Ok I bought a set of Ground Controls from a fellow forum member... Well he swapped out the 6" front springs for some 7" springs... I got them and installed them, to find that my car was sitting about 2" (at least) higher in the front than the back (adjusted all the way down on all 4 corners)...
I was told that 6" springs and some lowered strut mounts or camber plates would do the trick, so I got some 6" 350lb springs for the front... I installed them to find out that it didn't really make alot of difference at all... Will camber plates or lowered strut tops lower it enough to eliminate the wheel gap in the front? Any advice on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated...

6" 350lbs/in front and 7" 250lbs/in rear springs.
The front adjuster is all the way down but the rear adjuster is half way, with 2" of adjustment left up or down. The front wheel gap is bigger than the rear, giving it a "saggin rear" look. I ordered the RB front end lowering kit to level the car.
Measurements taken from wheel well to ground, 16" wheels on 215/45s
After GC & RB front lowering kit:
• Front: 23 1/2"
• Rear: 24"
====================
6" 350 lbs/in front springs
7" 250 lbs/in rear springs
Racing Beat front lowering kit (shorter strut tops)
Front adjusting collar bottomed out
Rear adjusting collar half way
=====================
From 1-1.5" lower you can get away with an aftermarket camber adjusting rod. At 2", the rod is not enough so the next purchase will be Mazdatrix's new adjustable camber links at 90 bucks a pop.

Here's a pic of the difference on mine...
Rear:
Looks good...
Front:
Doesn't look so good... It literally looks like someone came in the night time and jacked my engine... lol
This is with 6" 350lb front springs and 7" 275lb rear springs... Front and rear are both bottomed out... So I should raise the rear up halfway and get lowered strut tops for the front? Anyone got a pic of an FC with this setup sitting on 17's?

And proof you shall have...
And by this I meant the hood, since it's pretty much the only one around...

I was walking the other day and saw a wing a lot like that on a Silver FC. I literally stopped walking, stared as it went by, and cussed profusely. That's my natural reaction... nothing faked there.

It's a one-off CF replica of the Knightsports hood... Needs some hoodpins badly...
BTW the headlights aren't really tight yet so that's why they look crooked...

call GC and order 5" springs for the front...if ur lowering that much you want camber plates for sure to fix ur negative camber (pm boostedrex about these) and you'll want those camber adjuster bar things for the rear too...
do not order GC camber plates!! they're a good design but not made for ur car, you have to drill/grind to make em fit

So the 5" springs will work? What are the rates? It looks like there are 2 available, but I don't think the number has the rate in it...

Wow, I didn't even know they made 5" springs?
I would worry about such short a spring binding!
Did you allow the suspension to settle?
Sometimes it takes a few miles of the dampers to droop to their normal ride height.
You sure the front springs aren't hung up on the perches?

I thought so too. 6" the smallest.
That ****** for 350lbs is gonna take you a long time to settle for like a hair drop.
The 6" spring and strut top lowering kit will probably level the front & rear.
What size wheels & tires?
Thanks.
* The rear looks perfect to me.! Nice.

The suspension hasn't settled yet... The car hasn't moved so I dunno... Also with 5" springs I'd be worried about the preload on the AGX's... They aren't hanging up on the perch though, I know this much...
And LAN I agree with you... The rear looks perfect, which is why I realy don't wanna raise it back up any... I wish there was a way I could level the front with the rear...
Soo unless someone comes forward with some info on the 5" springs they sell, I guess it's either camber plates or lowered strut tops...

Anyways...
You can kind of see my car here
That's with tokico illumina shocks, 6" GC springs and RB lowering strut mounts. The change from the GC's with stock strut mounts to the RB lowering ones was a change of about 1/4" MAX. This is with the GC's all the way down and massive weight reduction to the front of the car. The RB's really didn't cause much of a change.
Take that info/pic for what it's worth...
Also remember that they will break in a tad in the first couple hundred miles and sit a tiny bit lower after that. Then after that they should stay where they are.
