Questions.

the rx7 catalytic converter is for 210.12$ in the dealer should i buy it or does any of you recommend me with the high flow cat and do i have to change the pipes to leave them?

is it better to change the 02 or leave it?

what about the spark plugs, is there some special sparks that makes better ignition and better preformance; and do i just plug them in or i have to do some things on the engine/wires?

did any of you hear of the mystry oil, and would you recommend it?

i believe high flow cats designed for the 2nd generation rx7 will fit right on with no modification. not a sure fact, but if i remember right.... then that's the case.

and do you want to change the o2 sensor because of smog issues? or to get a better air/fuel ratio?

and spark plugs... i mean how much power are you pushing? are you worrying about detonation or just boosting alot of psi? if not.... the standard NGK's do you good. If you want, you can go with MSD ignition and get some 8mm or 10mm wires.

and by mystery oil.... do you mean that oil that you spray in your spark plug holes that gives you an amazing compression? I've seen some threads on this product already, so you might want to give Search a try. Hearing about it reminds me of Slick 50, a product that uses teflon to coat your engine.... i mean it makes sense it would built compression... but for how long?

What series is your car?

The S5's have three cats- 2 pre-cats and one main- and dealer cost on the whole enchilada is $3K...the main unit being @$2200 all by itself.

$210 seems like a total bargain.

$210 is dirt cheap is it's a factory Mazda part. Somehow ........I don't think it's the real deal.

Go here: http://www.mazdatrix.com/e5.htm

and click on the part number of the original part. The price will appear if you do that. Those are normal prices.

If you are talking about marvel mystery oil, don't use it.

If that stuff was some breakthrough in lubricant technology, don't you think the giant oil companies would buy that stuff out and use it in regular motor oil?

The only mystery behind that stuff is what it actually does. I saw a test on it once mixed with conventional motor oil and it caused bubbles to form. Bubbles = BAD!

You don't need to replace the pre-cats, I hear its best to gut them so they don't break off into your main cat and kill it. They're only for start-up emissions.
