question on an s/c mod....

I have the opportunity to buy a supercharger from a friend of mine--it came off of his 93 Thunderbird SC. I am getting all the parts...intercooler, all intake pipes, everything.......all for 100 bucks! Needless to say, I am buying it, but I am wondering if anyone has put one of these into a NA. It has no play in the shaft and spins freely. has only 71K on it and the car was totalled in the rear. I am looking to see what I would have to add to make this work. Obviously I intend to get a s-afc. The car is bone stock right now. I am still looking into exactly how I would mount it ni the engine compartment, but since I am getting it so cheap, I guess it's my new project! Please let me know if this is even worth doing. If not, I can always put it in my Taurus daily driver.

the problem with it, like with all the other s/c options, is overspinning the s/c. You need to be very sure you get an appropriately sized pulley to prevent this from occurring. You will be fabbing up several mounting brackets and piping to fit in your rex. What year is your car? How many miles on your car? What model?

86 GXL, bone stock with 87K original miles.....I expected the custom work such as brackets and piping, so not a prob there....thanks for the tip on pulley....how can I find out what size is appropriate? the LAST thing I want to do is kill the car! I want to make this as bulletproof as I can, so any help is appreciated!!
Also--I heard that the NA injectors can handle a good deal more than stock. Do you think I can still use them or should I look at an upgrade?

Best bet is to install a set of TII injectors, a TII or FD fuel pump, and an S-AFC to tune it all...

Other then that, you'll want a decent open exhaust, and have fun fabbing up those brackets and sourcing a to drive the supercharger off the eccentric.

brackets, pulleys(for the serpentine belt),tensioner,TII injectors, rising rate FPR,S-afc,High volume fuel pump, custom piping for S/C to intake, and lots of patience and tuning.Believe me when i say tuning,im going through a motor swap now because of the lack of tuning.

Other than the obvious need for fuel management, your main concern should be the rpm limit of the super charger. Spin it too fast and she'll blow up. (and out and all over)

Idont know about skydivr, but my pulley has already been changed to a bigger pulley which creates less boost but solves the overspinning problem.I have the ole nelson kit.

dude if you are going to try to put a sc off of a mn12 (cougar/t-bird) 3.8 you need to understand that the mn12 charger is a roots type and is huge, anyone who is asking a question like this is on crack, this charger yill not work on your car take the 100 bucks and buy 100 lotto tickits. hope that you strike it rich and hire someone that is capible of doing a turbo swap for you. or if you are not a pureist hire someone to put the 3.8sc block and all in the fc.....
