Take your pick!
http://www.hopupracing.com/enpe17.html

The Apexi Power Intake is my pick considering its price and proven performance.
Seeing that you're buying an 88 though, you may need to search further. Looks like the Apexi they carry is only for the 89-91 models.

if the filter is in the engine bay and not covered or sourounded by a shield it will bring in warm air and not be to efficient...

I think the 20.00 adapters u buy off ebay (adapter to afm and filter for 20.00 shipped) is the way to go..

then u should either run the ducting out to the front of the car or put a box around the filter to keep the hot engine bay air away from the filter..

i remember there was a 2 week debate on this subject a couple months ago.. and after i looked at all my options and prices.. there isn't too big (if any) of a difference in an aftermarket intake and the stock intake. So just save the money buy a new filter and use the rest for air freshners or rotor keys??

I know it's not what you want to hear, 'cuz it doesn't look cool, but the stock intake is actually a good way to go. Throw in a high-flowing cheap paper filter, and be done with it.

Or you can take the route that I did, and spend a good deal for a cold air box, vented headlight cover, MAF adaptor, and cone filter, and put at least $200 into a mediocre intake that improves throttle response slightly, but only gives miniscule power gains.

you want sound? K&N makes a cone filter kit for the S4 RX-7's.

I've got a K&N and a paper filter, and can tell by way of my Butt Dyno that the paper filter flows better. Maybe my K&N is still over-oiled, though.

IRL i'm not a hateful person, i just get very frustrated on here with 100 noobs a day asking the exact same questions that were asked yesterday and nobody bothered to even finish looking over the posts on the 1st and 2nd page before posting. this is the 3rd thread on this exact subject in the last 2 days. i apologize but please search for like 2 hours atleast before even thinking about asking a question, anything you can possibly think of has already been discussed in detail many times here. i'm sure if you searched "brand intake" you would have found exactly what you were looking for

I'd guess its over oiled

The mustang we got had a paper filter not too dirty when I put it over my mouth and breathed in I could notice I was breathing through the filter obviously. When I tried with the K&N drop in filter we got, it was almost like nothing was covering my mouth.

I just got a drop in K&N for my 7 I didn't go on a butt dyno really but it even feels constructed better then the paper one.

Templarof Kevlar you got a N/A Rx7, go get a exhaust system first that makes more of a difference than a intake LOL

I will have to vouch for cmanns. If its sound and easy bang for your buck hp, get and exhaust job first. I recomend starting here.

http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm

If its too pricey, work your way down the food chain from here. side note: I dont know what kind of emission laws you have to deal with. I'm so never leaving MN. No cat? meh.

CorkSport 'Power Series' Cat-Back Exhaust System -Turbo, NA (80mm/stock cat)
http://corksport.com/store/category/...rx-intake.html

if you don't mind noise, I'd also get the silencer it helps not much at idle but when its revved up its much much quieter

We have emissions here but I'm going with header and removing the cat and just gonna keep the stock exhaust when emissions is needing to be passed.
