is this every time or just sometimes?

Search "N374". No, it won't ruin your engine. It will just fire an injector improperly and cause it to run like crap or stall.

its probably a fuel cut due to something not being hooked up properly

N374 will usually work w/ S5 Turbo.
N374 won't work w/ S5 N/A harness.

Chipped N374 will sometimes work w/N/A harness

No one seems to know *exactly* why
