Question about secondary injectors, and their o rings

Ok, so when I was porting my intermediate housing yesterday, I noticed for the first time the plastic diffusers or whatever that the secondary injectors sit in.

First, what are those called exactly?

Second, are the o-rings on the plastic pieces supposed to be soft?

Those plastic diffusers are the mixing plates I believe. The injectors, from top to bottom have 3 pieces to help seal. First piece is a small rubber oring that fits in the beveled neck at the top of the injector. Almost directly below it is a beveled grommet that seals the injector body to the fuel rail when bolted down. The last piece is another beveled grommet that helps seat and seal the injector.

Yes, the rubbers are supposed to be soft. I changed my 2nd injectors a while ago and replaced the seals - the old ones were pretty hard already, the new ones not...

greetings,

Harry

Where'd you get the new ones?

They injector diffusers are called "injector diffusers". DON'T break them, since they seem to be made of pure gold and cost about $40 a piece.

Yes, the rubber o-rings should be soft and supple. Good habit is to replace them whenever you have removed the injectors.

lol Glad I was on with the name, and even more glad I didn't bust them pulling them out

So I can just get new o-rings from a parts store, then re-seat them right?
