This question about the radiator

SO, if I have a coolant leak in my car, I just change the radiator right? Why do I see some people saying that you need to rebuild the engine?

Thats if your car burns coolant. That would be a blown coolant seal.

Depending on where the leak is coming from. If the radiator is leaking, then yes obviously change the radiator. If it's leaking from the engine block then yes be prepared for a rebuild.

if you can afford a pressure tester pressure test the system then look for your leak. find out if its a hose, radiator, coolant seal, or heater core.

All these people are trying to fool you, just change the radiator and add more coolant.... come on guys. You need to rebuild the engine because you change the radiator.

First things first.

Alsways, and I mean always search for the problem before you solve it. Not otherwise.

With other words, put your car on a lift or something and search for visible leaks. It can leak anywhere.

The stock radiators have plastic end tanks. If it has a leak, replace it.

I've used "radiator barn. com" before. Free shipping and good quality parts. If you can't find it cheaper locally I suggest you check it out.

Why didn't you just say the radiator was leaking in the first place? And who told you to rebuild your engine??

Just be more specific. This thread is retarded. You've wasted that much space on the Rx7club server by asking if you should replace your leaking radiator.

If your radiator is leaking, replace radiator. If your car is losing coolant, but there are no external leaks, the engine is burning coolant and needs to be rebuilt.

Your topic is:

"This question about the radiator"

Your post was:

"SO, if I have a coolant leak in my car, I just change the radiator right? Why do I see some people saying that you need to rebuild the engine?"

Nowhere did you say your radiator was leaking. Go back to school and learn how to convey your thoughts properly.
