A Question about Racing Beat Headers

I am going to buy them in the near future, but I don't want to shell out the dough for the presilencer
Can I
A. Have a muffler shop custom make me a pipe to connect to the headers (and will i need RB gaskets?)
B. Run headers w/o P.Silencer and not have it be too loud or high pitched, not really worried about noise unless it will get me pulled over.

A) Yes

B) No

C) If you're considering getting them, order them now. There's a 6-week back-order

Yes order now! Even if you don't have the money. They won't charge it till they send it. I have waited forever and they called and said they just shipped it. I personally would recommend the pre-silencer. Just my 2 cents.

That is why I hope to keep mine when I sell my blown car. Anyway, no. The header WITH the presilencer is FREAKIN loud. Mine set off car alarms at 30 yards at wide open throttle.

It's fine to use the header and presilencer on an EFI car. I think they say that because the cat replacement pipe and pre-silencer are easier and cheaper to install. I recommend going with the header. Especially if you plan on porting your engine later.

How much HP will the header/presilencer combo give you (with a free flowing exhaust)? My engine has a small street port, but I'm looking for more power. I was looking at the combo, but wasn't sure if it was worth the money, as I've heard nothing about it. What do you guys think? Thanks...

Getting rid of the cats with that stuff will probably give you about 15-20% more hp. With the small street port I would definatly do it. Keep in mind racing beat is really back ordered. Worth the wait though!

Cool, thanks man. I still have to wait 4-5 weeks for my engine from Pineapple Racing, so the wait doesn't bother me. Thanks again for the info, that's a lot of horsepower for so little money.

When you get your engine post how you like pineapple's service and quailty. They are only live 75 miles from me and am thinking about using them to rebuild and port my engine.

i was very impressed with pineapple's service and quality. all new bolts, new housings are standard for them.

rob is very accessable. he's normally available to answer the phone and he was very responsive with my emails (usually replies nightly to them).

i recommend them whole heartedly.

john

ps - i bought a s5 n/a (with the 5 year warrenty) from them with a port job and the sleeves. he mentioned that some parts on the 5 year warrenty engines are cryo treated for additional strength.

Rob seems very accessible so far. I've talked to him a few times on the phone, and he emails me back quickly. sellane8, that's the same exact combo that i ordered. Have you gotten it yet? If you did, how do you like it? I'm hoping it will give my 91 vert a little extra power... I'll definitely keep you updated on Pineapple, Matlock.

I think mine was about 3k with a 5 yr/ 60k warranty, the street porting, and the 6 port sleeves. Give Rob a ring, he'll give you a quote or you can go to www.pineappleracing.com for their price list.

I AGREE THE RACING BEAT HEADER IS WORTH THE MONEY. I WAS RUNNING THE HEDER AND PRE-SILENCER WITH THE STOCK CAT-BACK AND IT SOUNDED LIKE CRAP. IT COULD'VE BEEN THE 10 YR. OLD MUFFLERS. BUT THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE SINCE I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE EXHAUST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND YOU CAN FEEL THE DIFFERENCE.
