Ive put 150k miles on my car and never found a need for premix. Since Ive kept it under stock conditions ive never had a single thing break on my 7 that I can remember. I always figured if you need to do all of these special things to your rotary then the factory would address it more seriously

Haha, indeed! Ideally, it'd have been a secondary storage tank that would be metered through the existing OMP (Kind of like the kit you can buy that adapts it to do just that), but I'm pretty sure mazda knew people would ignore/neglect it, so they compromised.

i've always used those 12oz 2 stroke oil bottles from walmart (blue bottle) when i started premixing. i just keep four or five in the car at all times. when they go empty, i just refill the 12oz bottles with the same oil that is sold in the gallon containers. one bottle per fill up. i tend to let my fuel level go down pretty low before i gas up. just a habit of mine. its been working fine for me.
