Ive put 150k miles on my car and never found a need for premix. Since Ive kept it under stock conditions ive never had a single thing break on my 7 that I can remember. I always figured if you need to do all of these special things to your rotary then the factory would address it more seriously

 

The only reason the factory didn't implement it is because they knew perfectly well that the average owner would neglect it. The absolute largest problem with 4stroke is carbon. Yes, it works, but in the end it'll foul up the engine considerably more-so than 2 stroke. If you can be trusted to premix consistently, then it is ideal to do so and will reward you in the end. You'll discover the 'need' for premix if ever the engine is taken apart, or on more demanding performance conditions.

 

yeah, but you cant expect your daily normal drivers to go through all that ****... I mean ****, most of the dumbasses in the world today wont even open the hood the entire time they own a car to even check oil, the air filter, coolent level... etc, let alone go out in the rain and measure oil and dump it into their gas tank every time they get gas... maybe the people who car about there cars yes, but theres too many lazy bastards in the world, and mazda knows that.

Haha, indeed! Ideally, it'd have been a secondary storage tank that would be metered through the existing OMP (Kind of like the kit you can buy that adapts it to do just that), but I'm pretty sure mazda knew people would ignore/neglect it, so they compromised.

 

You dont need a needle you can pour directly from the bottle and use the lines on the side to measure. It's not an exact science, just get the amount close.

Though ya that adaptor or the stock OMP is better IMO. Too much trouble to do it manually.

 

i've always used those 12oz 2 stroke oil bottles from walmart (blue bottle) when i started premixing. i just keep four or five in the car at all times. when they go empty, i just refill the 12oz bottles with the same oil that is sold in the gallon containers. one bottle per fill up. i tend to let my fuel level go down pretty low before i gas up. just a habit of mine. its been working fine for me.

btw... why dont they make them things for an s5?

 

my stock spark plugs keep fouling with the premix oil. The only one that are working very good with premixing are the Bosch +4 4477

 

I wasn't aware of Bosch plugs made for the 13b. Those +4 plugs suck but you're probably running too rich a mixture.
