question about check engine light
I know this is probably a stupid question but it just won't let me alone
does the Fc have a check engine light or how do you know something's wrong?
I don't think is the exhaust temp light, or is it?
if it does how would you read the codes?

I don't know how you'd read the codes, though I'm sure its covered in the FAQ (stickied top of 2nd gen section). 86-88s don't have a CEL, 89-91s do. The series 4 cars beep at you instead.
Few words of advice about the light. Look at the light, then read what it says. Use FAQ and troubleshoot as necessary.

that beeping could just be oil preasure being off when you first start it or sumthing with the coolant temp sensor.. normally it happens at running temp right when the ecu feels something wrong with the car it will beep an annoying beep.
it only happens when i actually start the car and its the same duration every time (which isnt often) i only asked about it cuz they said that the s4 used a sound rather than a CEL to let you know there is a problem.

you can make a CEL. there are threads all over, i think there is a write up on FC3Spro.com. I prefer the light because my cpu stopped beeping lol. plus you can re-use it for tps adjustment.
