Question

There is a gray thick coaxial (I think) wire that goes through the firewall along with about 100 other smaller wires in one spot. Does anyone know where it originates and goes to? Mine is cut partially through and I believe it may have something to do with why the car won't start.

My fault, I did not specify... its on the driver's side, just to the left of the clutch peddle. There's a whole mess of wires that go through the firewall there, this is one of them.

sounds like your talking about your speedo wire... does your odometer work? it goes to the tranny but that wire goes in its own seperate little hole ...... oh wait you mean from the inside on the left? then that would be your fuses wires... goes from the main fuse box to the inside fuse box plus lots of other little things like the cpu and stuff

Whereas you're right that there are several wires that go to the fuse box and cpu right there, this one seems to go up towards the gauges or possibly the ignition. It follows a group that gets covered with a clear plastic then they all go up towards the instrument cluster.
Normally I wouldn't ask where a single wire goes in a group of several, but this one is way thicker then any of the others. It's the size of the speedometer wire...

The only reason I'm so curious about this one wire is because its the only wire that's partially cut... and my car won't start. I've done everything to unflood the engine and I'm all out of ideas. Its getting fuel, but no spark... anything else I should check?
