putting an amp under the seat - problems?

Hi all, I have an S4 '87 GXL and am looking into installing a new set of speakers, stereo deck and amps.

What I'm curious to is if there are any problems / dangers with mounting amps under the drivers or passengers seats with screws and if anyone else has amps mounted this way?

Thanks for any help you can provide and I'm running vin checks in the 2nd gen cars for sale sections until 9/17 if you need one...

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
heat will be your enemy you gotta have airflow. On your amp will over heat and then you have to get a new one.

the best spot for amps (imo) is in the two "back seat/storage areas"

previous owner of my car put one under the driver seat, screwed it into the floor with wood screws, no thanks, i pulled that out. Going to mount my new amps in the spaces alongside the spare tire area when i get them.

amp under the seat is fine, as long as it stays cool,

like fcdrifter said, you gotta have airflow, 12v fans are cheap, invest in one

Yeah except I like to keep my tools and such in one bin and oil/2-cycle in the other. =P

I'm gona put my amp on the "wall" right between the seats and the "box-storage area". My only problem is I don't know how I'll install them without making holes through the car (the metal)...
I'm still thinking about it. There's a sheet of plastic in front of the metal but I don't think it'll be strong enough.

I can barely fit my hand under the seats. Any amp you manage to squeeze under there is going to get real hot...
