Pulsation dampner rattles

Yea it does, the one on the primary fuel rail. Im cleaning the rail so that I can paint it, and I know how sensitive this part is, leading cause of engine fires in sevens. I don't want to take it off, or **** with it in any way, but when I shake it, you can hear a "rattleing" noise. Is this bad or normal?

THe dampner shows no sign of leakage, it was gummed up with grease, but it looks to be ok. I just don't want to have to buy another one cause its 140$!!!!!!!! wich is COMPLETLEY insane for such a small and simple device.

Could it be that little screw that's always falling out on everybody?

Yea it was. I screwed it in halfway, just so it stays put. I got brave and removed the plastic cap and realized that all it was is a cover for the screw I thought that it was sealed and if I took it off it would leak, etc.

Anyways, the damper looks fine, and like I said before, it doesn't leak. We'll find out for sure when I get my injectors back.. wich should be in a week or so.

As far as I know, if the screw comes out that means the dampener is trash.

It may be trash, but as long as it doesn't leak for now, thats all I care about until I budget in for a replacement.

Then just use a banjo bolt until you can afford one.

BlackPlague - No, that's not all you care about. .replace it.. If you can't afford to replace it with a pulsation dampner (my situation!), then just buy a banjo bolt (I got mine from summit racing), and replace it with that. Here's a link to ReTed's site about the removal/replacement of it, it has links to summit racing's site. http://fc3spro.com/TECH/FAQ/pd.html I plan to one day put it back in, if I have money/find the need, but the banjo bolt seems to be doing alright
