Question Prosport Electronic Boost Gauge

I bought a used Prosport electronic boost gauge for cheap. It didn't come with the boost sender, though. Is "boost sender" fancy for MAP sensor or boost sensor? Because I'm curious if I can just wire the gauge wiring into the stock boost sensor wiring using the 1987 FSM and these Prosport wiring instructions...

Has anyone else done this? I don't feel like spending $23 + shipping and waiting 5-7 days for a Prosport boost sender.

Without knowing what voltage or ohm range the prosport is looking for, nobody can accurately tell you if this would work or not. If you want something to try you can hook up the green wire to the boost sensor on the pass strut tower (i forget which color it would go to... the one the ECU sees)

Unlikely; the range of the stock sensor is 0 - 30ish psi absolute, while the prosport sensor goes 0 - 45 psi absolute, and they're both likely 0-5V signals, so the scaling will be wrong

It almost looks like I'm going to have to buy one...

Although now I know how I would wire it, I'm factoring in what toplessFC3Sman said.

Funny thing about getting things "for the cheap"...

Yeah. If I buy a new Prosport boost sender, it will still be cheaper than a brand new gauge... This has just been more of a hassle than I had expected. :-/
