Mustang owners don't realize that there cars weigh 3700 pounds....compared to 2600-2800 for an FC.
Again it's not all about horsepower, and paying $1,000 for a turbo or turbo engine is retarded. We are talking about the difference between a single and true duel exhaust. I vote for true duel!

I've got an N/A and I've taken down:
5.0L stang
a few 4.6L
countless V6 stangs (just like "CiBiCZ," they're everyhwere)
monte carlo with racing prep
V6 camaros (never raced a V8 camaro before)
Jesus christ how did a single vs. dual exhaust come to this? sheesh
AbecX, sorry, but V6 stangs ARE really, really slow. they're underpowered boats. Even a real VTEC Integra will own a V6 stang. Hell, i bet a protege will take down a V6 stang too. :P:
--193 horsepower and 3429 lbs AINT GOING ANYWHERE FAST!

true dual is the way to go

And its true DUAL. $1000 for a turbo engine is not retarded, but claiming you can beat a car that has over twice the amount of torque and horsepower you do stock is preposterous. Some of you people think street racing is the end all be all. Post up some of your 13 second time slips in your stock n/a cars, then I'll believe you when you say you can beat a stock mustang.

Well, my single 2 1/2" with a magnaflow sounds like a 2 cycle motorcycle engine.. Being a muscle car guy, it sounds like **** compared to my TA, but hey, it's a race car.. Remarkably quiet at idle, but the sound goes up exponentially as throttle is applied Real real loud at WOT
Anyway, G'luck!

Unless your on a turbo, exhaust isnt going to do much for you other then sound. Expect no more 10rwhp if even that. I'm sure it sounds like *** to, I'd get some quiet mufflers and spend the money on something that will actuall give you some power on them straight away's.

A full exhaust system probably cost in the $500 range easy for these motors, there has to be other stuff out there that would produce and enhance the engine more for that price.

naw junior, I think u have it wrong, at the very least you are a moron, no one here said that a stock na runs 13's, if you read other posts completely before reacting you would see that on page 1 someone lists the stock et at high 15's. As well, no one said that we were running on a drag strip, i believe every one said they beat them in a race, A win is a Win no matter what. btw, horsepower to weight ratio is a lot more important in even straight line racing than straight out horsepower, a locomotive probably has a few thousand hp, but i think i could beat it in a race, don't you.

It's because it doesn't matter how fast your car is. It matters more how well it handles, and how good of a driver you are. I would bet money I could hand you and your 300 hp Mustang your *** on an autocross course in my Stock N/A RX-7. If you live anywhere near Texas, you can take me up on that offer.

There are two autocrosses coming up in July. One on the 21st and one on the 28th. Both of them are at Pennington Field in Bedford. Not too far of a drive from you.
You should come out and see some performance machines that were built for more than just going fast in a straight line. It might open your eyes to something other than just drag racing. I gaurantee you will love it.
And the offer still stands. We can go for money or just for fun. Let me know if you can make it.
Anyone else who wants to come out and autocross most definately should. If your in the Dallas area, come and check it out.

Hell, even v6 5spd mustangs run mid 15's now days, all stock to the paper filter, some of them that launch like bob cosby run 14's. N/A Rx7's are slow even from a roll ( unless its turbo'd ).

AbexC just lost his credibility about "Driver Ability"
Takes a LOT of ability to drag race a V6 w/ an automatic transmission.
If anyone who owns a running, non-vert, non-auto RX-7 can't beat your "fast" time... they should be shot.
Now, BACK TO THE TOPIC!
Which makes more Power? From my understanding, the Single Exhaust makes more low/mid range power. The TRUE Dual makes more top end ( By true dual, I mean road race header, 2 pipes, all the way back. )
Which is louder.... Single.... No questions
Which sounds better? Matter of opinion. They sound pretty close to the same, but the Single's just louder.
Who makes a bigger Y-pipe? Who cares? If you're not running dual all the way back, go single.

Thanks for the input Liquid Anarchy. Since this is my daily driver and weekend autocross car, I don't want it to be too loud. But, I think I'll go with a single to save a little weight since I already have the lightest FC ever made. Since I have to run stock exhaust manifold and catalytic converter, I don't think it will be too obnoxiously loud.
