Thumbs up Projector headlights

What do you guys think of these H4 convertions with a built in projector lens infront of the bulb? I think they are pretty nice and might be worth getting because they improve light output with the better bulbs and they look nice too.
Opinions?

There are hundreds of H4 conversions out now, it's up to you which brand you choose. They are an improvement over stock, but still not as good as HID's.

Yeah I know it's up to me, but the deal is I just want to know if anyone thinks the "projector lens" that is built in would actually have any effect on the light pattern.

Like in my GF's VW she has real factory projectors and it makes a very crisp horizontal line all the way accross the light field.

Do you think these would work like REAL factory projectors or do you think the "projector lens" is just a gimmick to get people like me to buy them?

By the way I know this isn't really 2nd gen specific, just trying to get the opinions of the people in my usual group here. Feel free to move this if it's too off topic

I'd definitely lean towards the latter...

From www.projectolight.com:

"The entire front-end of any car or truck will transform into a modern age automobile after replacing the old, plain headlights. Best of all, it will add character to any applicable vehicle. Are you ready for an instant face-lift?"

That's basically all the info on the site. Notice it doesn't say anything about improved lighting? Where are the usual over-the-top claims about lighting improvements?!

Lighting technology is far more complex than most think. That's why cheap usually equals junk. Stick to reputable brandnames and you can't go wrong.

I have looked quite a bit and these are the only projector H4 conversions I could find. I don't believe the "reputable companies" have a similar product

Anybody else know of another brand which might be "better"

If nobody has better info on them I think I will order a set of these and install them, take before / after shots and if they are infact cheap I'll return them and let you know. this way we all get real info about these lights.

I got a similar H4 conversion on my car... I also got the Wiring harness to handle the new bulbs. It's an easy install and i'm happy with the results, much brighter lights (not quite HID) and you can change the bulb instead of the whole sealed enclosure.
A little pricy, but worth it IMHO.
same as pbrx7 I got the APC brand. they also have small bulbs in the enclosure (mine were blue, but you can buy any color bulbs at the autoparts store) that i hooked up to a switch. It's pretty cool cause when I park the car I flip the switch and my FTP lens light up blue.

I didn't like the look of the APC or the ones on e-bay, Hella are nice but plain, right? I really like the looks of these projectors, and I hope they are functional too since I'll be getting these.

I personally hate projector lights because they blind other motorists. Especially the fake, cheap ones.

well thats why I'll get 'em and see if they work correctly. And if they don't they will be returned. and the good people on this forum will know all about it
And they don't blind others if they are aimed correctly and have the proper bulbs installed.

i was thinking of getting the cool blue, but i ended up getting the halogen 9003 (same as H4) but I don't like that they are yellowish. Anyone know a good H4 bulb that is super white (xenon) but not blue? all the ones i found were super white plasma (blue coating)

never get anything that has the word 'blue' in it. It just uses a different tint to make it seem brighter, when it's usually darker than most oem lights.

right on bro!

i bought some sylvania silverstar H3 foglight bulbs and they are REALLY bright! HUGE improvement!! it makes my headlights look like absolute CRAP now... i HAD the silverstar sealed beam headlights on my N/A they are pretty good give out a white color no blue at ALL, but im thinking if you have the H4 conbversion the silverstars would be MUCH brighter than the sealed beam ones.
