@Classic: I hope you like it. Camera makes it look orange....wich its not. Its blood red in reality. Thanks man for all the help, hope you read this thread, because you helped me in the making of this baby.

So here is the result...but one problem....its to freakin low! Never thought it would be THAT low. So my question is, is there a way to clip the side skirts on? I mean, on dont want to glue them on since I'll want to remove them if I need to jack the car...I am using screws at the moment, but I would need glue or windsheild adhesive to correct the ''bendings'' on each side of the doors. I'd rather use clips or something but I dont want it to show...Any ideas?

I can see them. I'll give you that it looks clean. I don't particularly care for the style, really what I dislike is it feels too wide, like it's wearing bell bottoms. If you fill the exhaust out to the bumper it should look better.

You might be able to screw receiving clips to the body and attach accompanying clips to the side skirts... how often do you want to remove them and do you foresee theft being an issue?

Yep, got 'em now.....

Looks good! I like that colour too....

Clean TII swap, front mounted...kitted....neat little driver!

Where are you having trouble with the fitment? TO be honest when we install kits it varies as to the methods used to attach them, but usually on side skirts I end up running a bead of windshield urethane (edit: along with the required fasteners) under the edges to secure it becuase there usually aren't enough spots to use rivets/etc get a good solid fit. However - that method will bite you in the butt if the kit doesn't fit that well or hasn't been fitted. Mostly becuase if it doesn't naturally rest against the body, then when you use urethane, you'll need to "press" or clamp them to the body to make them tight, and when you take the clamp off the kit will always want to pull away from the car - and eventually will.

But which edge in particular is giving you trouble?

First off, its 98% done. Still need to put in the 4'' tip greddy mufflers, finish assembling the lights and interior.

Classic: The spots I'm having ''trouble'' with is just besides the doors. It sits perfectly against the body, its just that I want to be able to remove them easily. I plan on working on the car pretty often since its my hobbie...

As for the kits, we had problems with the front bumper, ortherwise, pretty much everything fitted well in place excpt for some minor mods.

And as for the paint, turns out I panic a bit to soon....it turned out pretty nice.


I have to find clips...or a way...Its a freaking car, not a decoration that I cant use often...

Well....your best bet if you want to make them removable easily would be use a similar type of clip that the factory sideskirts used.

Basically, its like a door panel. There are clips that you slide into grooves on the back of the side skirt - then the clip's "Christmas tree" portion presses into matching holes on the body. To do that on a FG skirt, I'd probably short cut and simply fiberglass the clips to the skirt, then mark the spots on the body, drill, and install. Only trouble with that method is you put holes in your fenders, rockers and quarters. As well as the nature of fiberglass and the way you remove them would result in almost certain cracking.

The only way I've done it with great success was to engineer an old style windshield moulding retaining rivets to match a slot on the skirt that we had to shape from fiberglass with a die grinder, then hang them onto the rivets once installed, and use screws in the bottom to keep them from sliding up and off the retaining rivets. Took about 20hrs per skirt to get them perfect though...........lots of work and still had to be VERY careful removing them.
