He said it was a Flat Out Motorsports fibreglass splitter. And I know I want one...

very nice car
mine is on the way to looking like that, interior is already all gone lol
what does it weigh?
also, since its a race car that see's high rpm's, i'd say either get a serpentine belt setup, gilmer drive belt setup or go back to a single alt pulley and get a pineapple racing yoohoo belt. also, i've heard from a few people they've had bad luck with running water and water wetter with the water pump having issues and the coolant seals.

We have no choice but to run water and water wetter. Antifreeze is illegal on our track due to motorcycles racing there as well and the danger of fluid spillage. Water wetter works great for us!
He actually thinks he has a file on the car, since the engine was built on a dyno. We're trying to get all the paperwork on it. Oh and that would be at the flywheel of course.
also, i'd hate to see the temps on the coolant when it was being raced, that fan has no shroud and its a stock radiator. when i raced on a track with stock radiator and fan i could only squeeze out 5-7 laps without getting too hot to come in on a S5 making ~210hp at the flywheel.
im also guessing that 285hp number is at the flywheel, but its possible its a whp number if its got a nice bridge port.

I actually dont think 285hp is unreasonable.
I was on a pit crew for a fellow named David Pettigrew up in Connecticut who raced a 3rd gen rx7 shell with a 12a heavy bridge ported motor in GT3 class. His engine made 250 hp at the flywheel, and that was with a handicapped intake restriction. I think he was only allowed to run 32mm intake runners restricted by the book on his class.
He has since swiched from CARBed to EFI (Motec I think) which should have increased his total output. His engine was good to just under 11,000 rpms and wouldnt idle under 2,500 rpm. Engine rebuilds were done every 3 years on his motor unless he crashed, and only once in 15 years did he pop one after a major coolant explosion. Before the 3rd gen rx7 he raced a 1st gen.
I have not talked to him in a few years but I could get you his telephone contact info if you would like...

that's awesome and no not the leg humping way...my girlfriend is looking for a white TII S5 that she can DD/race. Good luck and if you can i would really like to see a side profile of the car i can't decide if that lip is what i want.....thanks
Dude, that car is awesome. I was thinking of building a track car.. well still considering it. How do you get into these circuits/races? Do you have some information you could PM me possibly? I am VERY interested.
