Progress on the 7

She made it home on her own power last night. I'll have a week full of tuning every night after work.
I also have an FD alternator and dual pulley on the way. And the underdrive pulley from Rotary Performance.
yes. you also have to cut that end of the cable because it will be too long to tightly wrap around those butterflies. You will then have to drill a whole in the metal stopper that you cut off and silver solder it back in place once you find the appropraite length.

took the car out for some tuning last night. That turbo spools FAST. I don't know what it is, but that thing is quick!! It was spooling at less than 2k rpms.
We are still tuning in NA mode, so boost isnt a factor yet, but I can hear that thing clearly.

I'm curious how a shorter throttle cable improves the response? Wouldn't tuning the throttle pump settings help with that? I mean, when I touch my gas pedal (with a TII cable) the butterflies open, the engine responds. How would shortening the cable quicken the response between throttle plates opening and the engine accelerating?

Nice to see it running though, congrats
classic, i guess the best way to look at it is as the path of least resistance. The long cable curves around the whole motor pointlessly. As the cable wears out, there is much more play in a longer cable than a shorter cable. My cable was worn out; there were kinks and damaged portions of the cable so when I went to replace it, I just went with the shorter NA cable.
I don't really see how a longer cable makes any sense. And I have noticed a huge difference in response. The slightest touch on the pedal and the TB reacts.
monkey, I have the wastegate open now so the turbo won't spool so instantly anymore.

Glad you got it back!
Too bad you didn't let me know. I have a rotary performance main underdrive pulley sitting up at Elliot's shop that I can't use. It should have the belts as well. I wonder if it is different for FC and FD?

i wonder. when i bought the pulley, i remeber providing info about my car. but there wasn't an FC/FD option for the pulley. I'll ask him about that later on. Anyway, pulley should be here tomorrow.
I just got done installing my new FD alternator. It looks nice since it is polished. Pics later.
I will also need a master cylidar and slave cylindar for the clutch. I can't get into reverse if the car is on.

Man, I swear to god, if I'm ever in Arizona I will DEMAND a ride in that thing... it's turning out realy nice, and we seem to have some simmilar ideas about how to modify a car properly. Good job, and get that sucker tuned!
well nene, it's running but it aint prefect yet. We all have our roadblocks right?!
Cozmo, Elliot said that pulley won' t work. You have a serpintine belt right?
Here is my FD alternator and Rotor-shaped dual pulley.

Rotary Performance Under-Drive pulley. It has 4 differnent timing marks that will make timing easier.
A little stumble in the road to boost:
One of my stock injectors started leaking from the part that clips on to the harness.
My clutch hydrulics are shot. Before, we could shift with some difficulty, but now it is near impossible.
So I've got a pair of stock injectors on the way from boost_its_whats_for_dinner. I ordered the clutch hydrulics from SpooledUpRacing. And I ordered a new harness and sender for my oil temp gauge. The current one is leaking becasue it's the wrong one.
