Problems with Turbo Timer, shuts off w/ IG

I just installed a Greddy Turbo Timer in my car. Seemed to be working fine. I put the switch to the 'Acc' position and I set the mode to the 'Acc' mode using the Setup program. However, when I turn the car off the timer does not keep the engine running (not for any amount of time). The timer stays on but the car shuts down just like normal.

I figure that I have it wired correctly because otherwise the car would not turn on. I currently do not have the e-brake wired, would that make a difference?

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

The e-brake wire must be hooked up (or grounded ) that should solve your problem.

Much safer to connect it to the e-brake! Remove the four screws that hold your arm rest/center console in and look near the e-brake for a single wire connector. You'll need to splice into that line. I used a wire tap from Radio ******.

I got the A'PEXi brand, I like the voltage meter and it's tiny footprint. I'm sure the others are similar.

I just went out and grouded the e-brake wire and it still would not keep the engine on. It would shut down with the engine every time. Any other ideas?

Did you hack it in or use a adapter? If you hacked into the harness I would look over your wiring again. sorry.

If you wired it in yourself (as opposed to using harness adaptors), make sure you tapped into the IG1 wire (black with a white stripe) on the ignition switch harness, not the IG2 wire (black with a red stripe). These labels are on the back of the switch. The IG1 circuit carries current for all the engine systems, IG2 is for less important stuff like wipers and fans.

Swap your harness cables. My car did the exact same thing when I installed my timer with harness. The car would start and run, but when I turned the car off the timer turned off with it.

Oh, you think they are hooked up backwards?

I will go try to swap them and see if that works. Thanks.
