The metal out put of the bov with the threads on the inside? tdoes that go to anything or is that stay open. and the hose out the bottom? that goes into that nipple of the side of the intake hose going into the intercooler right? Sorry im not familiar my bov was taken off the car when I got it for no known reason im sitting here waiting hoping someone can help me out fast

UIM is the upper intake manifold.

and you had two threads going with the same questions so they got merged.

yeah i know that was an accident its cool. But ok what about all ther est of the connections. here is how my car is. Theres a blocked off hose sticking out thge passanger side of the intake hose into the intercooler. Its the only orfice on that side i see usable for the bov. But the bov has the main hose out the bottom, the saide a big output with threads on teh inside and then on the top two small vacume oputputs, wheres all that **** go.

Its been only thirty minutes... Get a clue not all of us are sitting by the computer just waiting to answer your question.

Maybe if if not one person answered after a day or two... then you should bump it up.

And don't even get me started on that other thread that I just deleted that you started.

My answer to you now is, go read the bloody manual and figure it out.

Maybe someone else will feel pity for your 10 posts on the same subject in a hour.

Sorry, I don't have a turbo, and I've not worked on one before.

bumping... every... 30... seconds... is... ARGH

just keep it on the front page, man
you've got like 30 posts total, and 14 are in this thread alone.

As far as the BOV goes, they're pretty simple, aren't they? one to the UIM, one to the turbo, and one to the intake, or whatever its vented to.

I think you had it right on your first post.

First answer these questions.

The BOV you got, did it come with a flange to be welded onto something? Did it come with a big metal tube?

Is it a universal that can be clamped onto a hose?

Do you know where the stock BOV is?

ok its the purple type 2 as seen at http://www.greddy.com/products/images/blowoffvalves.gif but it has a adapter on bolted to the bottom with 2 inch diameter hose about 7 inches long comming out. The metal fitting comming out the side is threaded on teh inside and the top of the bov has two small nipples comming out as seen in the picture. There was NO bov on the car when i bought it no idea where it is. There is only one hose comming out of the hose going into the intercooler that has been blocked off, all other hoses on teh car are connected and nothign else is plugged or open. Its a 1987 T2 i dont have a camera so i cant take any pictures i wish I could.

OK, sounds like you have the Greddy KIT for the TII, not just the universal BOV- nothing could be simpler.

The pipe the BOV is on replaces the pipe that is on your car connecting the turbo to the intercooler. If you cannot find that PLEASE bring your car to a shop to have work done on it.

Next the vacuum hose that went to the stock BOV (located right off that same tube you just replaced...) is connected to the larger TOP nipple on the BOV (the removable, threaded nipple on BOV).

The outlet of the BOV is indeed threaded (as you mentioned) incase you need to use it as a recirculating BOV and vent BOV waste air back into the intake before the turbo so the stock computer is happy. I have run the stock '87 computer w/ open air vented BOV no problem. You don't have to worry about the threads in the BOV outlet.

Now, make sure that the spring pressure (as adjusted on the TOP of the BOV) is just stiff enough you don't leak at idle. If it is too stiff the BOV will not funtion right and compressor surge will destroy your turbo. Run it just stiff enough so it doesn't leak at idle.

wow thanks thats the most information ive gotten yet. DOnt get me wrong im very mechanically inclined i just put this rotary together myself and installed it in my 7 I just kept my car mint stock for a while and the bov was always missing and i can only see one blocked off orphis at first. THe hose comming out of the bottom of the bov is only about 1 1/2 , 2 inch.s ITs not nearly big enough to go over the motuh of the tmic intake.. I had gotten this BoV for a trade for a boat and i guess i was lucky enough that it was the same one for my car but that hose doesnt seem to fit. I have some pictures on aim and stuff of the orphus commming out of the intake to the intercool that has been blocked off with a hose. I hooked the lower hose to that orphus and ran the top nipple on the bov to a vaume hose from the intake that i saw had been blocked as well(small) There was difference in performace, no sound, no turbo change i didnt notice anything plus the hose up top i used was a little to big. But Maybe i should show you a pic to see where I had tapped in

Please don't lie. You're not very mechanically inclined. If you were, you would know that your car DOES have a BOV, and if it didn't, I'd be very concerned with how your car is still running.

DONT tell me is there, Ill tell you what you fly down and if its on there I will pay for your plane ticket. Other wise, I posted on here for help not for your smart mouth

reading instructions and following them is easy. Putting a puzzle together of a part you have never owned(type s) is another. If anyone has the origianl outline instructions from greddy I would appreciate it if they could fax them to me.
