Problems --> Leaking Gas? Clutch?

I just bought an 86 SE four days ago. On the way home, I heard a horrible noise, cant explain it. (after about 2 hrs of driving) and the car lost all power. The engine revved fine, transmission shifted normally, but the clutch did nothing. I'm thinking the clutch went out. I'm currently working on taking the clutch out to look at it.

(It's got a TII fuel pump on it). Now that I have it home another problem has popped up. When I start it up it smokes horribly. More than it did before it had whatever go wrong with it. I'm expecting it to smoke due to the TII, but this is excessive. What really bothers me is the fact that there's gas dropping from the car. It's dripping from around the oil pan, but I can't tell where it's coming from.

Any clues?

You best NOT be driving that thing around. Good way to catch the thing on fire.

Fuel leak is most likely the pulse damper (tan plastic part on the front end of the top fuel rail.)

the fuel does sound like the pulse damper.good thing I just happen to have a extra one laying around.send me your full address and I'll ship it to you.also check all the fuel lined coming to the top fuel rail.should be good I checked them a few times.but check just to make shore.the smoke will go away with a n/a fuel pump.I'm going to check the ones I have and get one to you.just send the turbo pump back to me.easy install.cool!also tell me a little more about what the clutch is doing.it might be something else.

I'm working on getting the intake manifold off. Hayne's manuals sound like what I need .

There's not much to say about the clutch. It does nothing currently. When its not pressed in it makes a somewhat grinding noise that spools down when I depress the clutch.

Got the intake manifold off. Easier than I thought it'd be.

I can't see any leaking around the pulsation dampener. Could it possibly be the o-rings in the injectors crapping out?

The amount of gas it's dropping is pretty significant. The leaking (at least visible dripping) starts after about a minute or two started. With 5 minutes of running, I'd say it dripped around half a cup of gas at least.

With the intake manifold off, put a jumper on the yellow connector near the AFM and turn the key to on. This will make the fuel pump start and you should be able to see fuel leaking.

The grinding noise is the transmission.It could be a bad throwout bearing, input shaft bearing , or output shaft bearing.Your going to have to get it rebuilt if its the last two that I described.When you take the intake manifold off you should also replace all the vacuum lines in the rats nest and get the injectors cleaned out.

One of the o-rings (primary injectors) was partially shredded on one side. Would that cause that much fuel leaking, or leaking at all?

Sorry for the noobishness, but I'm a bit confused as to what that means. This is the first time I've really worked on a car, and I mean that in every sense. My biggest "project" before this was changing spark plugs on a v6. Pic, more detail, something? I would really appreciate it.
