problem with rear defogger

i know this has happened before to many people. has anyone found out what causes the light on the rear defogger to stay on regardless if its on or off? ive replaced the switch assembly and it still does it, but that was with another used one...

what work has been done recently?

There is no reason for the light to stay on unless there is a blown or missing power steering fuse, or a shorted wiring system.

Yes, the power steering fuse, power the switch for the rear defrost and the relay.

Why, did you remove the fuse for some reason?

Just because the fuse says power steering or radio or anything, doesn't mean that it doesn't power other circuits in the car.

Is there or where is the power steering relay? I've looked around the workshop manual but can't find it...

There is not a power steering relay on a FC

There is a heated rear window relay, on the same fuse though.
