Prestone leaking.

Hi there, my add coolant buzzer buzzed, i go outside of the car, and i see some presone on the ground.

I took a closer look, and there is this ''straw'' that i never paid attention to before, and its leaking from there. It is right under the battery.

I took a picture and it looks like that

Where do i put this one back?

Thanks for help!

Looks like your overflow hose. See if the overflow tank in front of the hood prop area is missing. Could have fallen off.

The overflow tank is there, and its not leaking from the tank itself, but really the straw!

I hope its not a coolant sleal.....

The "straw" should not be danging like that. Take a picture of your overflow tank. The little "vent" line should only be 2-3 inches long, not all the way to the ground. If your coolant seals were bad it should not leak outside the motor. Most likely it would get into your oil or your housing during combustion.

Ive checked the oil and there is no prestone in it.

here is teh tank

I suspect the leak at the end of this hose, its full of ``dried prestone``

that line should run to your radiator to draw / release extra coolant, the top of the cap should have a "T" fitting with a 2-3" line to drain if needed

There is no reason for a pipe to just be hanging there so yes it belongs somewhere

+1 Unless there is some other line connecting to the radiator that line should go somewhere around the coolant cap.

That "straw" doesn't really look like an overflow from the coolant tank at all...typically those would be rubber, not plastic.

It's been a while since I've had one but does the stock battery tray have a drain?

I couldnt check for leaks today because it was raining... but it blew some white smoke, i dont know if its a coolant seal, or just weather, was cold and really wet.

ill check it out again tomorrow with a better weather... but i really dont feel like opening the engine and put another 1k of rebuild kit... just swapped it from NA to TII -_-

It could be the battery vent tube. Almost all batteries have them, but not all use a vent tube.
