pressure sensor wiring
I was having problems when I re-grounded my pressure sensor so I was wondering which wire to ground?!
Also, I think I may have put the wires in wrong in the the plug.
Tell me if this is right. My car is a '88, and n/a.
On the top where the clip is
clip is here
Ground (Black wire) Black wire w/ white stripe
Brown wire w/ white stripe Brown wire w/ red stripe
Please tell me if this is right.
I am also going to re-ground my ecu. I have a schemeatic of if, but I was wondering the color of the wire.
Thanks

The black wire. NEVER EVER GROUND ANY OF THE OTHERS. EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER.
Look at this schematic: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...&postid=601909
Now put you glasses on and look down at the bottom of that page and look for the PRESSURE SENSOR down towards the bottom right. The color of the wires is there. That view is looking at the plug from where the wires enter the plug.
EDIT: YOUR black wire is the BrB wire shown in the plug picture. Mazda screwed around and changed the color of the ground wire after 87. Silly people. Couldn't leave well enough alone.

the original post is set weird. I am grounding and need to get the right one on my Pressure sensor. I have a black wire with red dots, a balck wire with a white stripe, a brown wire with white stripe, and a brow wire with a red stripe.
what of hte 4 should be grounded?

The TSB that covers adding a wire to the MAP sensor's ground wire only applied to earlier models, not your 88. Doing it will have no positive effects.
If you want ECU schematics and wiring colours, look in the FSM.

The Brown/White wire is ref voltage and if you ground that wire you will immediatley destroy your ECU.
The Black/White wire is battery voltage. If you ground that you'll blow your EGI Comp fuse.
The Brown/Red wire is the output of the sensor. If you ground that, nothing good will happen to the ECU.
The Brown/ Black on early RX or pure Black on later models is a ground. The only ground on the sensor.
The grounding of the sensor was a fix for early series four. Earlier than your. As someone said above. Personally I don't think it will hurt to ground it. Probably won't help either.
